Prof.Anil G.Rao

Prof.Anil G. Rao, Principal, MJ College is a dynamic personality. He has successfully introduced many new and innovative ideas in the field of Higher Education. Administration, marketing and finance are the other spheres of his activities, which he blends with lots of innovative ideas. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with Master’s degrees in Commerce and Computer Management.

With over 27 years in the field of Higher education, of which 18 years as a Lecturer and 08 years as the Principal of MJ College, he has contributed his lifetime to the pursuit of Education with a philosophy that “Intellectual curiosity should be the life blood of University Administration in the country”.

Throughout his career, he has worked with all levels from teachers and principals to vice chancellors and state-level decision-makers.Prof. A.G.Rao is a person with unique personality: smiling and gentle. His intrinsic talents as an exceptional human being endears him to every person he meets. He is a creative person full of immense knowledge, wisdom and experience.

As a qualified Chartered Accountant his specialization is in the field of Taxation, Audit, Financial Services / Administration, Computers, Information Technology, MIS, Project Work. He surrendered certificate of practice with an intention to dedicate self to the noble cause of education when he assumed charge as Principal of MJ College, Jalgaon. He developed expertise in the field of Project assessment and evaluation and Academic Administration

He has been very active in University Activities. He has served various positions in North Maharashtra University such as Member of Board of Studies in Accountancy, Member of Faculty of Commerce and Management, Member of Academic Council, Member of Senate of North Maharashtra University, Member of NSS Advisory Committee etc. He has participated in Restructuring of Commerce Course & MBA courses at State Level.He has been instrumental in introduction of professional degree courses like Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Bachelors Degree in e-Commerce and various other Diploma Courses.He worked as Chairman / Member/ Vice Chancellor nominee/ Subject expert for Local Investigation Committees / Interviews of Principals/ Lecturers and different academic / administrative committees in North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon.

At Present he is Member on the Panel of Assessors and coordinators of National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore (Body of U.G.C.) and also the Chairman, Board of Studies in Computer Management.

As Principal of Moolji Jaitha College, he has contributed in the overall development of the Institution in particular. During his tenure, National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore has accredited the College with “A” Grade in 2003 and University Grants Commission has recently conferred the College with the status of “College with Potential for Excellence”. At present, he is coordinating and heading the institution with 6800 students, 225 faculty members spread in number of U.G. and P.G. academic programs.

University Grants Commission has awarded Prof. Anil Rao with a special financial assistance for Minor Research Project for the research in Human Resource Accounting. He is pursuing further research in the field of Valuation and Accounting of Human Resources in Service Sector with special reference to Banking.

As the Principal of a major Leading Pioneer Educational Institution he works with the entire community of staff, students and parents, to maintain trust and faith in the quality of our education system. His door is always open to staff, students and members of the community. He is a team player with vision, the ability to manage change and the leadership. He establishes and communicates vision of learning excellence, organizes and manages all aspects of Educational Enterprise in a variety of innovative ways.

His effective organizational skill to has seen various successful national events happening at MJ College such as All India Inter-University Women’s Kho-Kho Tournaments, National Level Conference on Innovations in Teaching, Learning and Evaluation and Healthy Practices, National Level Conference on e-Governance, National Level Conference on Sanskrit Literature regarding Environment, State Level Convention of Marathi Arthshastra Parishad, State Level Convention of Principals of Aided Private Colleges in Maharashtra, State Level Conference on Statistical Quality Control, State Level Conference on Sathottari Hindi Sahitya

During his tenure, the activities and achievements in the field of N.C.C., N.S.S., co-curricular and extra-curricular events, Sports have remarkably increased. A State-of-Art Sports Complex and Indoor Stadium have been constructed in the College campus.  He has been instrumental in establishment of Virtual Classroom to run the recognized Distance Education Diploma Programs of IIT, Powai.

Pastime for him means books and books, and music Indian, but that which refreshes the soul. This intimate contact with the written word and music has enriched him from within. He writes regularly contributing on variety of issues related to higher education.

All in all Prof. Anil Rao is an experienced, enthusiastic, and energetic educator who is passionately committed to education and capable of expanding the limits of traditional pedagogy through the development and realization of a unique integrative and interdisciplinary curriculum.
